The funeral of the late Mr. Sidney Alexander Ray, aged 58 years, of Junee, whose death occurred shortly after he collapsed at the Junee Bowling Club last Monday afternoon, took place yesterday afternoon, the cortege moving from St Luke's Church of England, Junee, after a service conducted by the Rev. H Staples.

The deceased was born at Wagga In 1886 and his father, the late John Ray, had a farm at Brucedale. There were 11 sons and three daughters then residlng with their parents in the Village. Four of the sons Jack, Edward, Daniel and Sidney, are now deceased. Three son's served in the Boer War. The late Mr. Sidney Ray was in business in Junee for over 30 years. His father also died from a heart attack whilst out hunting between Junee and Wantabadgery.

The pall-bearers at the funeral yesterday were Messrs. Quilter, Leahy, Christie and Stanton, of the Junee Bowling Club, of which deceased was a prominent member, while the floral tray bearers Messrs. Harris, Wilesmith, Bennetts and Myers, were also club mates. As the funeral cortege passed the bowling green the club's flag was at half-mast. The cortege was a lengthy one and many floral tributes were placed on the grave. The Rev. Maples officiated at the graveside and Worshipful Master A. B. Jones read the Masonic burial service. Deceased had been a member of that Order for many years. The chief mourners at the graveside were four
brothers; William, Frederick, Alfred and Herbert. Two brothers, Archie and Arthur, were too ill to attend. Two sisters present were Ciss and Tot. Among the many wreaths were tributes from the Junee Bowling Club and from Masonic Lodge Alexandra.

The funeral arrangements were carried out by Messrs. Black and Pickles, of Junee.
