Marguerite E. Adamick, 92, passed away quietly Friday at Seton Manor nursing facility, Orwigsburg.

Born in Pottsville, Sept. 2, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Leo and Stella Cantwell Smith.

She attended Pottsville High School and Eastern High School in Washington, D.C.

In the buildup to World War II, she was employed by the Department of the Navy in Washington, and upon returning to Pottsville, she worked at Sears, Roebuck and Co., Pomeroy's Department Store and the Benevolent Home for Children.

Throughout her adult life, Marguerite was a devout member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville.

Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John "Beansie" Adamick, who passed away Sept. 22, 1998; sisters, Kathleen Wilson, in September 1981, and Leona Kutney, in December 1997; a brother, Leo Smith, in February 2008.

She is survived by her sons, Richard, St. Charles, Mo., and John, Redondo Beach, Calif.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 W. Market St., Pottsville.
