Richard A. Paris, 85, of Lexington, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Scott Memorial Hospital.

He was born on May 31, 1932 in Johnson County, Indiana, the son of the late Russell A. Paris and Florence Marie (Doty) Paris.

Richard was a retired truck driver for Morgan Foods in Austin, Indiana and also a farmer. He was a member of the Providence Christian Church in Providence, Indiana, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion Post # 234. Richard loved NASCAR, especially Bill Elliott and his son, Chase Elliott.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy D. (Barnett) Paris; two sisters, Florence Jean Waltz and his twin sister, Ruth Reynolds and two stepsons, Joseph Loren Barnett and Darrell K. Evans.

Survivors include two sons, Rick and wife Dawn Paris of Austin, Indiana and Russell and wife Arlene Paris of Underwood, Indiana; two daughters, Rhoda and husband Marshall Herron of Morgantown, Indiana and Regina and husband Ronnie Austin of Trafalger, Indiana; two stepdaughters, Tamara and Angela Evans; eight grandchildren, Mildred (Millie) Elizabeth and Toby Wayne Herron, Shawn Ray Austin, Jasmine Christina Coombs, Nicole Irene Paris, Alicia Marie Kellams, Meghan Rae and Heather Michelle Paris; five great grandchildren, Logan Paris, Haley, Alexis and Addy Kellams and Carter Paris Denison and several step grandchildren.

Memorial Contributions to: American Legion Post # 234 c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.

Funeral Service: 6:00 pm Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Jackson officiating. Visitation: 4 to 6 pm Thursday at Collins Funeral Home.
Cremation is requested following service with private graveside services later at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Austin, Indiana.
