Donald grew up and attended school in the Hopkins area. On June 2, 1956 he was united in marriage to Joan Nettie Woodman in Clarinda, Iowa. This union was blessed with six children, Sue, Ron, Timothy, James, Jason and Justin. Donald worked in heavy construction his entire working life. He also enjoyed raising and riding horses, deer hunting and gardening when he was able. His true love was his family, especially the grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, one infant, Keith and Darrel Berringer.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Berringer of Yorktown, Iowa; his children, Sue Binns of New Market, Iowa, Ron Berringer of Yorktown, Iowa, Timothy Berringer and his wife Gayla of Glenwood, Iowa, James Berringer and his wife Stacy of Lincoln, Nebraska, Jason Berringer of Yorktown, Iowa, Justin Berringer of Clarinda, Iowa; nineteen grandchildren, Austin, Lacy, Reyna, McCartney, Lennon, Harrison, Amanda, Amber Brooke, Molly, Blake, Jaraka, Skyler, Dakota, Amberlee, Snaily, Matthew, Jacob, and Siera; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Berringer of Arkansas, Allene Bozman of Marshfield, Missouri; a brother, Junior Berringer of College Springs, Iowa; along with many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Walker-Merrick Funeral Home in Clarinda with Chris Davies officiating. Burial will be in the Hopkins Cemetery at Hopkins, Missouri
