Patricia A. Bock, 71, of Owatonna, died Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Methodist Hospital, Rochester surrounded by her family.
She was born March 10, 1946 in Owatonna the daughter of George and Vlasta (Kubat) Spatenka. Patricia grew up on a farm near Owatonna the youngest of 14 children. She graduated from Owatonna High School in 1964 and later attended Cosmetology School. Pat married Terry Hansen in 1970 and they were later divorced. She married David Bock July 17, 1992 and he preceded her in death in 2010. Pat was a homemaker as well as working at Josten's, Wenger Corporation and retiring from Federated Insurance. She served as a volunteer with the Owatonna Hospital Auxiliary along with setting tables at the VFW. She was a member of WFLA and the VFW Auxiliary. For many years, Pat organized her family to put flags on the graves of veterans at Sacred Heart Cemetery for Memorial Day. She loved gardening, cooking, baking, camping, fishing, music and embroidery. She was an avid Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings fan. Pat also enjoyed listening to local radio programs. She loved to share many of her interests with her family. She taught her family how to make lefse and aebleskiver and loved to garden and bake with her grandchildren. Pat had a genuine interest in those who cared for her during her illness and was appreciative of their efforts.
She is survived by her son, Bret (and Kari) Hansen of Owatonna; daughter, Alison (and Steve) Jaster of Medford; grandchildren, Abigail Hansen, Oliver Hansen, Madison Jaster, Ericka Jaster; step-sons, Dan Bock, Steve Bock; siblings, Robert Spatenka, John (Janice) Spatenka, Katherine Kyllo, Donna Wobschall; sisters-in-law, Lois Spatenka, Janice Spatenka, brother-in-law, Hilding Johnson and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband David Bock; brothers, Jim Spatenka, George Spatenka Jr., Richard Spatenka, Calvin (and Arlene) Spatenka, Frank Spatenka; sisters, Joyce Johnson, Lorraine Rowe, Alice Spatenka, Mary Ann Copp; brothers-in-law, Rodney Kyllo, Hubert Rowe, Dave Wobschall; sister-in-law, Lois Spatenka.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 20 from 4pm to 7pm and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial services will be held Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 11am at Bethel Church with Pastor Micheal Simmerman officiating.
Interment in the Bohemian National Cemetery in Owatonna.
