Dr. Kenneth D. Smith, M.D., age 69, of 1529 Gilford Road, died Thursday, following a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Juanita; Mrs. David (Barbara) Columbus and Mrs. Edward (Carol) Jones of Columbus; 1 grandchild, 1 great-grandchild; sister, Mrs. Howard Jacoby. He was a retired physician and member of the Columbus Academy of Medicine, Ohio State Medical Association, American Medical Association, and Fellow of American Association of Industrial Physicians and Surgeons. Listed in Who's Who of Industrial Medicine 1948-1950. He attended Ohio Wesleyan University and graduated from Medicine at OSU in 1929. He practiced in Marion, Ohio and Columbus before entering the service in 1940 where he served in the 166th Infantry of the 37th Division and remained there until 1943. He then became attached to the Air Service Command until the close of World War II in 1945, as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was affiliated with the Phi Gamma Delta and the Alpha Kappa Kappa Fraternities. Member of Masonic Blue Lodge No. 172 F and AM. Dearborn, Mich. Private funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road. Interment Marion Cemetery, Marion, O. No calling hours. Rev. John Klein officiating. Family suggests contributions may be made to the Ohio State University Rehabilitation Center, Dodd Hall in his memory.
