She was born to Arvid and Jewel Chirstopher on July 8,1936 in Conran,Missouri.
She and the love of her life, Jack Meldrum,were married May 16,1953 in Sikeston,Missouri and were blessed with son Stephen Lewis.
They moved to Midland,Texas in 1958 and were blessed with their daughter Vicki Lynn.
Betty's talent was her ability to make others sewing handiwork's into beautiful finished decorating accents. She was especially talented in the creation of pillows,needlepoint and holiday decor.
Betty loved flowers and worked diligently in her flower beds creating her back yard
heaven on earth where she sat for many hours bird watching.
Betty was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband Jack Meldrum; children , Steve and wife Royce Ann of Midland; Vicki Dorsey and husband Paul of Midland; grandchildren, Carlton Finley and wife Yue of LaConner,WA; Kim Kelso and husband Todd of Midland and Terri King of Midland, great grandchildren, Colten Kelso, Conner Kelso, Ryker King, Rylee King all of Midland.
Betty is also survived by siblings, Bernice Fitts of Sikeston,MO, Fran Streun of Burnet,TX and Terry Christopher and wife Shirley of Oklahoma, Sondra Henry and husband Bob of Jonesburg,MO and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Solid Rock Fellowship Out West at 4601 -I20, Midland,Tx on Wednesday,December 20 at 4:00 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home,Midland,Tx.
