1984 obituary. NORTH WINDHAM - George Stephen Alden, 79, of Pope Road died Friday in a Portland hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Portland. Mr. Alden was a member of the North Windham Union Church, the Masons, the Order of the Eastern Star, the I.O.O.F., and the Windham-Raymond Senior Citizens. He formerly worked for S.D. Warren Co. in Westbrook. His wife, Ethel Butler Alden, died in 1964. He is survived by two daughters; a sister; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow at Dolby Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Brooklawn Memorial Park, Portland. [He was the son of Richard L.A. Alden & Jennie White].
