Eugene Albaugh Dies In Houston

Eugene M. (Bill) Albaugh, 57, 525 S. Main St, Oxford, widely known in Oxford and surrounding area, died early Wednesday morning in Methodist Hospital, Houston, Texas. Mr. Albaugh had undergone a heart operation about 10 days ago. Mrs. Albaugh was in Houston with her husband at the time of his death. He was born in West Milton, Ohio, near Dayton, on March 3, 1901, and had attended school in Brookville, Ohio before coming to Oxford in the 1920’s.

Mr. Albaugh had taught in the Industrial Education Department at Miami starting in 1926, two years before he received his degree from Miami. He later served as instructor, assistant professor, associate professor, and head of the aeronautics department at Miami University.

During World War II, Mr. Albaugh served as director of education for the Naval Training School (radio) at Miami. He also worked with the Civil Aeronautics Administration in Oxford. Between 1945 and 1947 he served as coordinator and later director of Veterans Education at Miami. Mr. Albaugh was a member of the United Brethren Church and of the Oxford Kiwanis Club.
