Mrs. McCollum passed away Saturday afternoon, December 23, 2017 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

She was born Tuesday, October 17, 1939 in Pocahontas, TN, the daughter of the late Henry Gordon Jacobs and Mary Ettie Brumbelow Jacobs. She moved to Memphis in 1955 where she graduated with the class of 1957 of Southside High School. Mrs. McCollum worked in accounting with Thyssen-Krupp (Dover) Elevators in Horn Lake, MS, retiring in 2004 after 24 years. She was a member of Getwell church of Christ in Memphis.

Survivors include two sons, Alex M. McCollum, III (Belinda) of Memphis; and Michael McCollum of Arlington; step-son, David McCollum (Kathi) of Benton, AR; three sisters, Ettie Virginia Miller of Searcy, AR, Bonnie Jacobs Veach of Middleton and Connie Cornelius of Pleasant View, TN; half-sister, Grace Robinson of Pocahontas; brother, Henry Jacobs (Linda) of Finger, TN; two grandchildren, Garrett and Dalton McCollum, both of Heber Springs, AR; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Pickard of Memphis and Martha Marie Greene of Pocahontas.
