ACKERSON, KENNETH P., 71 Ocala - Kenneth P. Ackerson, 71, of Ocala, passed away March 23rd at his home. Mr. Ackerson was born in Elmira, New York, graduated from Southside High School in Elmira and came to this area 19 years ago from Lantana, Florida. He was a retired Sales Manager for Prudential Insurance and a member of the Chemung County Historical Society. He was also an Atlanta Braves Fan and enjoyed singing, the theatre, antique cars and camping. He is survived by his daughters, Kate O'Neill of Scarborough, ME, Valerie L. Wheeler of Newfoundland, PA, Melissa R. Gleason of Calhoun Falls, SC, Laurie B. Gotthardt of Struthers, OH, Anita M. Khan and Cami L. Lemr both of Ocala; son, Joe Ackerson of Ocala; sister, Judy Patton of Ocala; and 16 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda E. Ackerson and a brother, James Ackerson. Friends are invited to a gathering at the Ackerson Home (1621 NE 17th Ave. Ocala) on Tuesday (March 27th) from 4-6 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests that Memorial Contributions be made to the Salvation Army. Arrangements by ROBERTS FUNERAL HOMES, Downtown Chapel, Ocala.
