Harold Burton McClellan, 95, died at 5:55 a.m. on December 21, 2017 at his home in Monticello, surrounded by his family.

He was born on June 25, 1922 in Medaryville, IN to the late Harry S. McClellan and Meta A. (Holt) McClellan. On September 28, 1946, he married Mary H. L. Hare; she survives.

Harold has been in failing health for the last several months. He has lived on their family farm in rural Monticello, Indiana for the last fifty seven years, moving from Star City, IN, where he had lived for thirty-eight years. Harold attended school in Star City, Indiana. He was a trackman for the Pennsylvania Railroad for ten years and then worked as a dockman at the former Kains Motor Service in Logansport for twenty-seven years. Harold was a United States World War II Army Veteran. He was a member of the American Legion Post #81, and the Christian Church, both of Monticello, Indiana.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one brother; and one brother-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Clifford Longbons; two brothers, Harry and Bobbie McClellan; and two sisters, Leona Cannon and Marilyn Stamper.
