Art was born on August 3, 1921, in Ann Arbor, MI, the son of Albert and Lillie Schaade. He and Dolores Ellen Callahan were united in marriage on November 2, 1943 in Chicago. She preceded him in death on February 27, 1991. He married Margaret “Maggie” Walden-McCoy on January 12, 1996. Art was a WWII veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed golfing, ballroom dancing and old-time western movies.
Art is survived by his wife Maggie of Sullivan; son, Gerald (Michelle) Schaade of Plainfield; daughters: Marie (Frank) Young of Bradenton, FL and Diane Sherry of Plainfield; step-daughters: Candice (Steve) Monroe of Sullivan and Brenda (Tom) Horsman of Shelbyville; grandchildren: Laura Moretti, Brian Hajewski, Kelley Wojcik, Roxanne Marin, Rhonda Ruff and Dawn Schwind; numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren and sister Irma.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife Dolores, grandsons Thomas and Allen, great-granddaughter Christina, three brothers and four sisters.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Church in Shelbyville with Father Marianna Sathuluri officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Burial will take place in Glenwood Cemetery with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church.
