Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St., with Bill Baldwin, son-in-law and pastor of River of Life Foursquare Church in Renton, Wash., officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery with military rites by DAV Chapter No. 26.
Mr. Baker was born in Cullman County, Ala., to Will and Renia Baker. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He received the EAME medal with two bronze stars.
He lived in Oregon from 1946 to 1999. He worked in the lumber industry 35 years and retired from S.W.F. Lumber Co. in 1981. He married Polly Pruett in 1946. He was a loving husband, dedicated father, greatly loved grandpa and devout Christian.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Chuck Baker of El Reno, Okla., and Ernest H. Baker Jr. of Rogue River, Ore.; two daughters, Rena Baker-Battenfield of Amarillo and Rita Baker-Baldwin of Covington, Wash.; two sisters, Dessie Graves and Irene Swann, both of Bremen, Ala.; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
