Duward Aaron Davis, 94, passed away December 31, 2017 at Medical City Hospital in Fort Worth.
He was born February 5, 1923 to Sam and Mattie Davis in Mitchell County, Texas.
He started work for the Texas Highway Department in Lamesa, and transferred to Mineral Wells and retired after 28 years.
He is a U. S. Navy Veteran, WWII. He loved adventure, and loved to travel with his family. He always said he could be packed and ready to go to California in 15 minutes. He was always happy and liked to make people smile. When his wife died suddenly in 1969, leaving him with 5 children, including a 2 week old baby he was the best daddy ever.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Fred and Aubrey Davis, and sister: Ruth Anderson all of Lamesa, daughter: Cynthia Goolsby of Mineral Wells, and first wife: Tiny (Mary Helen) Smith.
He is survived by his wife: Lorene of the home, sons and daughters-in-law: Donald and Dianne Davis, Rex and Karen Davis, daughters and sons-in-law: Patsy and Jerry Smith, Carol and James Valadez all of San Angelo, Sheila and Steve Fleenor of Mineral Wells, Joyce Bell of Odessa, Terry Gordon of Brownwood, Jimmy and Monroe Gordon of Mineral Wells, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
