Helen Marie (Self) Hearon was born on December 6, 1932, in Geary, Oklahoma, to L.C. Self and Ruby Mae (Powell) Self. She passed from this life at the age of 85 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas on December 28, 2017.

Helen graduated from Bradley High School in 1951. She lived in the Lindsay and Bradley area most of her life.

In December of 1950, Helen met and married the love of her life William Edward Hearon. Together they had three children; Margaret, Linda, and Rodney. They spent 58 wonderful years together until Edward’s passing in June of 2009.

Helen was an avid vegetable and flower gardener. She also enjoyed working cross word puzzles. She loved her kids and her grandchildren above all else. She was a joy to be around and will be truly missed by all her family and friends.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents: L.C. and Ruby Self, her husband: William Edward Hearon, and one brother: Jesse Self.

Helen is survived by two daughters: Margaret Pfaff and husband Edgar of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, and Linda Evans of Springfield, Missouri; son: Rodney Hearon of Lindsay, Oklahoma, three brothers and two sisters: Ruth Flesher of Hennessy, Oklahoma, Bill Self of Noble, Oklahoma, Jerry Self of Ada, Oklahoma, Mike Self of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, and Debbie Robnett of Moore, Oklahoma, seven grandchildren: Geri Harvey of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, Eddie Nichols of Dodge City, Kansas, Savanna Evans of Springfield, Missouri, Jacob Evans of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Zac Hearon and Ben Hearon of Maysville, Oklahoma, and Morgan Hearon of Purcell, Oklahoma, and twelve great-grandchildren: Erich Schwarz, Anelise Schwarz, and Carmen Schwarz of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, Mason Nichols and Ryan Nichols of Dodge City, Kansas, four grandsons of Linda Evans of Springfield, Missouri; and Aidan Hearon, Austin Hearon, and Brentley Hearon of Maysville, Oklahoma.

A graveside service is set for Tuesday, January 2, 2018, beginning at 1:00 P.M. at the Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma, with Martha Mitchell officiating.

Services are under the direction of Scott Wilbourn with Boydston Funeral Home in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Condolences may be made to the family online at www.boydstonfuneralhome.com.
