Funeral services were held for Judge Norris Box, 83, of Winborn Chapel community on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Winborn Chapel United Methodist Church.

Interment followed in Winborn Chapel Cemetery with Bro. Jim Hall and Bro. Cecil Locke officiating the services.

A graduate of Leakesville High School in 1953, he served in the U. S. Army from 1956 to 1958. A captain on a dredge boat; an employee of Mitternight Boiler Works in Satsuma, Ala. for 31 years; a farmer; an avid sportsman; a lover of Southern Blue Grass Gospel music; and a lifelong, dedicated member of Winborn Chapel United Methodist Church, he died December 18.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years; two sons; four grandchildren; a sister; and several nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents Judge Neville and Effie (McLeod) Box, sister Audrey (Box) Pridgen, brothers Morris Box and Aubrey Box, maternal grandparents Robert and Mary McLeod, six beloved aunts and a dear uncle.

Freeman Funeral Home in Leakesville was in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winborn Chapel UMC Building Fund or a favorite charity.
