He was married to Betty Jo Brown (bet. 1948-1949; divorced); Betty Hutton (bet. 1952-1955; divorced); and Patti Page (bet. 1956-1972; divorced). He and Patti adopted two children, Daniel and Kathleen, while they were married. He died on June 26, 1984 in Granada Hills, California, USA.
