CUY. FALLS -- D. James (Jim) Davidson, born Feb. 6, 1929 in Starford, Pa. Son of David J. and Elizabeth S. Davidson, deceased. Preceded in death by beloved wife Mary A. Davidson. Jim is survived by a son James Snider Davidson of Akron, a sister Joan Corless of Dayton, Ohio, sister-in-law Charlotte Woodyard of Parkersburg, W. Va.
Mr. Davidson was a life long resident of the Akron and Cuyahoga Falls area. He graduated from Hower Vocational High School, Summit County Sheriff's Academy, and holds a First Class Steam Engineer license. He served as an active reservist in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, served as assistant Boy Scout Master of local troop 188. A DeMolay member, Senior Adviser, Advisory Council Chapter chairman for the Cuyahoga Falls Chapter and International Supreme Advisory Council Awarded the DeMolay Legion and Cross of Honor. Community service includes past President and member of Cuyahoga Fall Board of Education, member and secretary of Tri-County Transportation Club to provide for children's transportation to Shrine Hospitals. Jim served as a Summit County Special Deputy Sheriff for 40 years, donating numerous services. Member of various Masonic orders including Adoniram-Joppa Lodge 517 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Akron, Tadmore Temple and Shriners, Stagecraft Unit of Tadmor Temple, Yusef-Kahn Grotto, and the Falls Chapter 245 OES. Mr. Davidson retired from B.F. Goodrich Research Center. A member of World War II Korean War rountable and Member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Cuyahoga Falls.
Funeral services 10 A.M. Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at the DONOVAN BAGNOLI FUNERAL HOME, 339 SOUTHWEST AVE., TALLMADGE, with Dr. Thomas Madden officiating. Burial Rose Hill Park.
