…. Intelligence of the death of Mr. Charles Alford at Columbus, Ga., was received here yesterday. The deceased is well-known here, having been connected with the Western Road as an engineer for several years. He was an engineer of the Columbus and Western Road, running between Columbus and Birmingham at the time of his death.
The remains were brought here last night and conveyed to the residence of Mrs. J.L. Sparrenberger on Washington Street, whence the funeral will take place this forenoon at 10 o’clock.
