James E. McCauley, 80, of 406 Big Plum Run Road, Lock Haven, died Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Williamsport Hospital.
He was born on May 30, 1931 in Mackeyville, the son of the late Lee and Bessie Barner McCauley, Sr.
On December 25, 1950, he married the former Betty M. Bower who survives in Lock Haven.
James served in the Army for the 101st Airborne during the Korean War.
He was employed by Piper Aircraft and then by Brodart until his retirement in 1994.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Kenneth J. McCauley (Deb) of Lock Haven; a daughter, Selena A. Weaver (Dennis) of Lock Haven; three grandchildren, Rachel Kenyon (John), Michael (Rachel) and Daniel McCauley; and four great-grandchildren, Mercedes Kenyon, OweKenyon, Paige Kenyon and Zane McCauley.
His funeral was held at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High Street, Flemington, with Lay Minister Robert Mann officiating.
Burial was in Rest Haven Memorial Park.

Miss Betty Mae Bower, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Bower of Lock Haven RD, became the bride of James E. McCauley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee McCauley, West Keller Street, Castanea, in a Christmas afternoon wedding at 3.30 p. m. at Avis. The Reverend Stewart F. Blngman, pastor of the Evangelical United Brethren Church, officiated for the rites.
The bride, who wore a dress of green satin with black accessories and a corsage of yellow roses, was attended by Mrs. Ruby Keyte, who wore a wine-colored dress With matching accessories and a corsage of yellow rosebuds. Lee McCauley, Jr., was best man for his brother.
Mr. and Mrs. Mack Keyte and the bride's brother, Pfc. Oliver G. Bower, home from Germany, attended the wedding and reception.
After a wedding trip to New Jersey, the McCauleys are living at Lock Haven RD 1. Mr, McCauley is employed by the Susquehanna Quick Freeze.
