Gene married Joyce Waggoner in 1946 in Gainesville, Texas. He was a veteran of World War II and a faithful member of the Church of Christ.
Gene is survived by daughter, Paula Willett and her husband Bill Willett of Ada, Oklahoma; son, Steve Martin of Midland, Texas; sister, Zelma Snow of Chandler, Texas; two grandchildren, Maryla Blanco of Norman, Oklahoma and Marty Hall of Dixon, Oklahoma; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, David Gene Martin, three brothers, Curtis, Joe and Henry Charles Martin; five sisters, Winnie Wallace, Dixie Lyle, Della Watkins, Bennie Sanders and Kate Colwell.
The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home, Tuesday, March 27, 2007, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Graveside services have been scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at Ector County Cemetery in Odessa, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association of Texas - Midland Regional Office, 4400 N. Big Spring No. C-32 Midland, Texas 79705 or a favorite charity.
