Mr. Hall died on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at his residence. He was born June 16, 1953, in Jefferson County to Joe Edward Hall and Nancy Carolyn Roberts Hall. Don was a graduate of Morgan County High School and a member of the Class of 1972. He graduated from Jacksonville State and earned an Army Commission. He graduated Army Ranger School in 1975 and served with the 3rd Armored Division, located in Fort Hood, Texas, from 1979 to 1981.

Don served three terms on the Hartselle City Council and was elected mayor in 2012. Prior to serving as mayor, he was employed by the Peck Glasgow Insurance Agency. He was a native son of Hartselle, born to the late Dr. Joe Hall and the late Nancy Roberts Hall.

Don was an avid Auburn fan and a Hartselle Tiger fan. He enjoyed gardening. He also was a member of City Church in Decatur. He loved Hartselle and serving the city he called home. One would not have to listen very long to pick up on the fact that he loved his hometown and wanted what was best for the city. He was always willing to lend helping hand to any project. Don was also a friend to many. He was instrumental in helping organize the first Hartselle Veteran's Day Parade.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Hall; four sons, Ben Hall (Kristin), Justin Nix, Brandon Nix (Deidre) and Ryan Nix (Kathryn); two brothers, Bruce Hall (Rachel) and Douglas Hall (Debbie); five grandchildren, Archer Nix, Reese Nix, Griffin Nix, Claire Nix and Benjamin Grady Hall.

Pallbearers will be Phil Rogers, David Sharp, Mark Roberts, Ferrell Vest, Jim Peck, and Tim Hall.
