Age 74, died peacefully at his home early Sunday morning, June 4, 1989 after a long illness. He was born September 2, 1914 in Waupaca, the son of the late Otis and Elsie (Conrad) Allen. Mr. Allen was married to Doris Klauss in Matoon, Wisconsin on July 20, 1935. She preceded him in death on March 13, 1984. Mr. Allen has been an area resident for 50 years and was a former employee of the Soo Line Railroad for 37 years retiring in 1977. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Neenah; Rusty Rails; American Quarterhorse Association; and a former leader of the Hickory Hills 4H Club. Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Wayne (Marlene Allen) Robinson, Little Chute; Susan Klassen, Neenah; two sons: Frederick, New Hampshire; Bradley, Neenah; a brother and a sister-in-law, Clifton (Nora) Allen, Neenah; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, a brother, two sisters; three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 1989 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church with the Rev. Richard L. Frost officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Westgor Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church one hour prior to the service. A memorial has been established in his memory. "God saw that he was getting tired and a cure was not to be, so He put His arms around him and whispered, Come with Me."
