Obituary 1944:
The Faith Lutheran Church was completely filled with friends who gathered Sunday afternoon for the funeral services of Anton Norberg whose untimely death occurred as the result of an accident. Rev. A. W. Rudquist gave the funeral message and Paul A. Rasmussen, a friend and employer of Mr. Norberg gave a talk after which Pastor Rudquist added a short sermon in Swedish. Orley Eastlund sang hymns in the Swedish and English languages, accompanied by Mrs. Kermit Estlund at the piano.

The pallbearers were Joseph Lillion, Anton Johnson, Albert Gagner, Herbert Berg, Alvin Stone, Reynold Grafstrom, Oscar Engstrom, and Arvil West.

Anton Peter Norberg was born September 2, 1906. At the time of his death, July 26th, he was 37 years old. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Norberg of Stark. His father is living, but his mother passed away August 13, 1936. After living in Bodum for a few years during his early childhood, the family moved to Athens township. When Anton was sixteen years old he was employed to operate the farm of the late Mrs. Anna Dahlsten where he worked for nineteen years until the time of Mrs. Dahlsten's death. After closing the farm operations on the Dahlsten farm Anton was employed on the farm of Paul Rasmussen. His entire life has been spent in this community. Everyone who knew Anton liked him. He was a big modest man who was always ready to help when he was called on. He was one of the best farmers in the county and an exceptionally good worker. He was always pleasant and loved little children.

On Sunday evening, July 22, while helping some friends get their cars pulled out of a bad spot in the road, Anton had the misfortune of running off the road with the tractor and was injured critically. He will be greatly missed by a host of friends.

Those who are left to mourn his sudden passing are, his father, J. P. Norberg, one half brother, Louis Woodmark of Downey, Calif., and 3 sisters, Mrs. Melvin Gerdine of Downey, Calif., Mrs. Adolph Larson and Mrs. Willard Larson both of Stark, and Evelyn Dahlsten, who has been as a sister to him.
