Joyce Lorraine was born August 21, 1926 to Dean and Rose (Rubis) McGowan in St. Paul, MN. Growing up she attended school in Forest Lake and was a member of the 1944 graduating class from Forest Lake High School. She married Gerard McShane July 1, 1948 in Minneapolis. She worked as a secretary at the Social Secuity office in Fairmont for 26 years. She was a faithful member of the Fairmont Baptist Church until her health failed. Joyce loved gardening and spending time with her family. She was a hard worker and liked to stay busy. Even though her life wasn't always easy, she always had a smile on her face. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry McShane; daughter Gerianne McShane; mother, Rose Pederson; Father, Dean McGowan; step-father, Ido Pederson; brother, Dean McGowan; sister, Maxine Carver; and son-in-law, Jeff McEwin.
