Rev. Alvin H. Williams, age 78, went home to be with the Lord on February 28, 2010. He was born on April 17, 1931 at Lisburn, PA a son of the late Joseph and Mary(Gibbs) Williams. He is survived by his wife, Fayetta Williams; daughters, Debbie Blackburn and her husband, Robert, Tammy Dunaway and her husband Gerard; and son, Mark Williams and his wife, Chris; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Also survived by 2 sisters and 2 brothers - Ann Mankin and Grace Holloway, Gene Williams and Shorty Gibbs. Several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Lester Williams He pastored Gospel Baptist Tabernacle for 46 years. He got saved at 19 and called to preach God's word at 21. He has spent his life always putting God first. He also loved to hunt and spend time with his family. Services will be Wednesday, March 3, 11 a.m. at Trinity Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Woods and Rev. Amos Richardson officiating. Pallbearers will be Jim Hornbarger, Cecil Hess, Joe Klein, Josh Williams, Jim McGibney and Rich Halsey.
