R. Duncan Brown, age 89, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 following a short illness. Born April 26, 1928 in Rockford to Charles and Alice (Whiting) Brown.

He married Mary Elizabeth (Mary Beth) Hocker in Rockford on August 16, 1952. Dunc was in management for National Lock Company for 26 years in various positions of managing with increased responsibility.

Member of Masonic Lodge Star in the East #166; Valley of Freeport Scottish Rite Bodies; Tebala Shrine Center serving as Potentate in 1976; Rockford Court #69 Royal Order of Jesters; served on the board of S.C.O.R.E both locally and nationally; Past President of United Way; former board member of Rockford Girl Scouts Council and Rockford Goodwill Industries; he was appointed by the Imperial Shrine International to serve on the Donors Relations Committee.

Survivors include: son, David Brown; daughters, Lynn (Partick) Stubblebine and Betsy (Mark) North; grandchildren, Bridget and Britany Brown, Michael, Andrew and Scott Stubblebine, Dalton and Blair North.

He was predeceased by: parents; and wife, Mary Beth in 2014.

Services on Saturday, January 13, 2018 in Westminster Presbyterian Church. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
