Official town of birth was Monroe (Jinestown), Indiana. On December 6, 1940 the towns people (Approx 500 families) were shocked to learn they would be forced from their homes to make way for the Jefferson Proving Ground. The burials in the local cemetery were moved to Marble Valley Cemetery, Madison, Indiana. Her father-in-law, Edward B.H. Owens is buried in Marble Valley Cemetery.
