Immigrated to the United States, Sept 19, 1886, on the SS Ethiopia. Augusta (never did like the name Justina) was born in what was once Konigsberg, Germany. Because of the changes in the territory of Germany, Prussia, and Russia in this region; the use of Germany for the birth area is an overall use. Research needs to be done for exacts but the region was still East Prussia at the time of her birth. "Germany is a modern nation formed in 1871. ... Prussia was the major Germanic Kingdom that unified the German states (except for Austria) in 1871. The Holy Roman Empire was a confederation of German states founded in 800 by Charles the Great(Charlemagne)." "In 1819 Königsberg had a population of 63,800. It served as the capital of the united Province of Prussia from 1824 to 1878, when East Prussia was merged with West Prussia. ... Königsberg became part of the German Empire in 1871 during the Prussian-led unification of Germany."
