Barbara Ruth Hansen died January 9, 2018.

She was born December 10, 1938, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Vera Eldean (née Anderson) and Lloyd L. Bute. Barbara graduated from Weber High School in 1957 and attended Weber College.

She worked for the IRS, Beauty For All Seasons, and owned and operated Country Flowers by Barbara.

As a life-time member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she held positions in Primary, Relief Society, Cub Scouts, and Ward Social Coordinator. She especially loved Activity Days and Visiting Teaching. She often looked for opportunities to serve and love others, usually in very creative ways.

Barbara had many talents and hobbies and was always willing to teach and share them with others. Some of her countless talents included painting, ceramics, pressing flowers, gardening, and collecting things she called "her treasures.” Her love of flowers and her beautiful gardens led to her opening a business, Country Flowers by Barbara.

She married William J. Hansen, the love of her life, on February 22, 1958, in Elko, Nevada. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls temple on July 15, 2010.

Bill and Barbara purchased their first home and settled in Roy, Utah. They were very active in Jaycees. Barbara served for two terms as President for the Jayceettes.

Barbara's love of her family held the family together as they moved across country from Roy, Utah. She always made sure each new place would feel like home. She would always say, "It doesn't matter where or how long we live here, we will treat this place as if we are going to live here forever." Our family lived in; Cheyenne, Wyoming; Kimball, Nebraska; Minot and Grand Forks, North Dakota; Great Falls, Montana; and in 1980 the family settled in Shelley, Idaho. Our mother's kind heart touched many lives along the way. She is leaving behind many friends locally and across the country.

She is survived by her husband William J. Hansen, three daughters and two sons: Rex W. (Tania) Hansen, Cammon L. (Joseph) Clark, Melinda B. (Mark) Donoho, Aimee S. (Gregory) Goodrich, and Gregory L. (Marti) Hansen. Also surviving are seventeen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, a sister, Diane (Rex) Marks, and three brothers, Roger (Kathleen) Bute, Alan (Jo Ann) Bute, and Craig (Sallie) Bute. She has been reunited in heaven with her parents and a son Curtis J. Hansen.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 15, 2018 at the Jameston Ward Chapel (1101 E 1250 N) Shelley. The family will meet with friends Sunday evening from 6:00 till 7:30 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) Shelley and Monday from 9:30 till 10:40 A.M. at the church. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery.
