On 30 June 1923 he married Christine J. Frederick Twining (November 1888 Grand Rapids, Kent MI - 29 May 1972 Doylestown, Bucks PA). She was the daughter of Rudolph C. Frederick and Anna Fullman Frederick. Christine had married Leroy O. Twining (1879-1949) on 24 August 1909 in Grand Rapids, Kent MI. They divorced 13 October 1919 in Kent County MI.
