Earl Bailey, age 94, of Cottonwood Falls, KS, formerly of Park City, died Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Chase County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Cottonwood Falls. Earl Elmer, the son of Pop and Iona (Mast) Bailey, was born May24, 1923, in Emporia, KS. He was extremely proud of serving his country as a U.S. Marine Corporal. He served during WW II and the Korean War. As a result of his action, he was awarded the Silver Star and received two Purple Hearts. He was a member of the Marine Revolver Team.
Earl and Lola Brenton were married in Rogers, AK, April 4, 1949. She preceded him in death January 11, 1994.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Gary Bailey; brothers, Paul, Frank, and Farris Bailey; and a sister, Inez.
A celebration of life graveside service was Friday, November 24, 2017 a the Greenwood Cemetery in Eureka. Military honors was presented by a U.S. Marine Funeral Detail.
