Charles and Ethel met while she was teaching school in Lapoint. He rode his horse to Vernal many weekends to court her.

They spent the first year of their married life in Salt Lake City after which they moved back to Maeser where they have resided since.

This union has been blessed with four children: Charlene Palmer Cheney, married to Lew Cheney; Francis Palmer married to Carol Bennion; Blaine Palmer, married to Shari Combs. One child, Dwayne, died at age 5. They have 8 grandchildren; their oldest grandchild, J. C. Cheney, is in South America on a mission.

Charles and Ethel have been involved all their lives in church and civic affairs.

Charles was mayor of Maeser and worked on finance and water projects for many years. He has enjoyed helping his friends and family on their farms. He has been active in scouting and loves the out of doors, fishing and hunting; he has taught his children and grandchildren to love it as well. There is no one around who knows the High Uintas as well as Charlie. He also has a tender spot in his heart for all little children and there are many around who call him Uncle Charlie with great love for him.

Ethel will always be remebered for her beautiful flowers hat she is so willing to share with others at weddings, parties and church. She has always been enthusiastic in her church positions, working with the youth in mutual for many years an in relief sociery.

The night of the 23rd of April has been set aside yo honor this couple. The family would like all their friends and relatives to join them on this occasion. There will be a program at 8:30 p.m. The family suggests no gifts please.
