Sgt. Curtis J. Forshey of Hollidaysburg, Pa., was a 2003 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area High School. He enjoyed four-wheeling, skiing, the outdoors and especially working on his Pathfinder. He was the son of Robert C. and Sharon Gummo Forshey and he married Laura Schmid May 28, 2004, in Roaring Spring. He liked the military life and, despite the daily dangers that went with serving in Iraq, had planned on making a career of it. Curtis died while serving his second tour of duty in Iraq, where he was diagnosed with leukemia. Curtis died from a brain aneurysm, a complication of his treatment. He was predeceased by his brother, Benjamin, who died Sept. 8, 2001. He was 22.
