Max R. Barnett, 89, of Indianapolis, passed away January 12, 2018. He was born September 7, 1928 in Evansville, IN to the late Ben F. and Thelma (Waechter) Barnett.

Max graduated from Akron High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from Purdue University in 1950. While at Purdue, Max was a Drum Major in the Purdue “All American” Marching Band. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Japan. Prior to retirement, he was a sales representative at Continental Grain Company for many years. Max was a devoted member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, belonged to St. Vincent DePaul Society and was a CASA advocate.

Max is survived by daughter, Lynn Barnett; son, Scott (Lynn) Barnett; step-daughter, Ann (Tim) Tully; daughter-in-law, Ellen Workinger; sister, Anita McMillan; grandchildren and a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joan Barnett and step-son, Michael Workinger.
