A Samuel Reed descendant reported December 2020 that Mrs. Brown's father, Samuel Reed, did practice law in WV for 20 years. A widower at the time of his death, he did not die in New Orleans. At the end of his life, he was quite ill and lived on a farm with friends in WV.∼Daughter of American Revolutionary Continental Army officer, Lt. Samuel Reed, who served after the American Revolution as an attorney in Berkeley Co., for over 20 years.
