On January 1, 1929, the world was blessed with the birth of Jean Moore to parents, Clyde and Rose Moore in Chehalis, Washington; the second of four children. Jean graduated from Napavine High School in 1947, and went on to banking school in Seattle. Following her schooling, Jean married her husband of 55 years, Ken Amrine, and lovingly raised two children.
Jean was one of the hardest workers you would ever meet and enjoyed 26 years of her employment at the Chehalis Music Store. Her appreciation of music made her a natural there and she was a genius regarding customer service. She took great pride in her ability to carry a TV as easily as anyone!
Being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in the mid 1970's didn't discourage Jean from being active, in fact, it probably made her even more determined! Though she was told she had to quit working, she continued her special brand of customer service at a bridal shop and Kit Carson Restaurant. She loved to serve people and had a rare gift of making others feel truly valued.
The most precious times for Jean were spent with friends and family. Whether it was cleaning the most eggs, playing pranks, preparing feasts or planning surprises, her joy of life was evident. She was an always available friend with a com-passionate heart with a seemingly infinite capacity to care for others, especially her family. Her ultimate joys were her grandchildren.
Jean and Ken worked side by side for years. They especially enjoyed landscaping and maintaining some of the most beautiful homes in Lewis County. They were a joy to behold as they created such beauty together.
Though her last few years were laden with health challenges, Jean's unquenchable spirit was never lost. She continued to inspire and encourage others through her struggles with her quick wit and charm. Her ability to make the worst of situations better was inspiring. Jean touched many lives by her mercy and grace
Jean is survived by her son Jerry (Kim), grand-children, Devin and Beau Amrine; daughter Kenni (Greg), grandchildren, Kile and Seyerle (Sy) Braaten; sisters Grace (Vern) Cates, and Linda Hansen; special neighbors, Paul and Sandy Hughes and Matthew McClanahan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Rose Moore; her brother, Jerry Moore and her husband, Ken. On November 26, Jean joined her husband to begin their much anticipated retirement together in Heaven.
Thank you, Jean, for enriching our lives with yours!
