Mr. Billy Clyde Austin peacefully entered his heavenly home on January 14,2018 following a brief illness.

Billy was born on October 9, 1933, the son of Clyde Asbury Austin and Irma Nona Robbins Austin.

He resided on the family farm for 79 years. Farming was the only occupation he had known other than service in the Army and Army National Guard.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Austin and his wife, Wilma Buchanan Austin.

He is survived by his wife Joyce Dowda Austin; children: Patricia (Stanley) Folds, Eugene (Annetta) Austin and Darrell (Jody) Austin; his “inherited” children: Angela and Terry Bryant; sister, Barbara (Mac) Hicks, and extended family generations.

Bartlett Lodge #139 of Hiram will serve as pall bearers.


Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Benson Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 2:00 PM.


Burial will be at Mt. Nebo Methodist Church Cemetery.
