John H. Abbott Sr., 92, of Jasper, died on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, at Ridgeview Health Services.
Abbott was retired from the Walker County Board of Education after serving for more than 30 years as a teacher and administrator.
Abbott was preceded in death by his wife, Zola D. Abbott; parents, John Henry and Mae Abbott; and siblings, Erin Blair, Novella Davis, Minnie Kraft, Hettie Jane Abbott, Otis Abbot, and Jack Abbott.
