Billie J. Hollond, 90, of Emporia, Kansas died Sunday, January 14, 2018 at the Holiday Resort in Emporia.
Billie was born April 24, 1927 in Hutchinson, Kansas, the daughter of Irvan and Elizabeth (Jamison) Bunyan. Billie and her twin sister, Betty, graduated from Cullison High School. Billie married Bill Hollond on September 3, 1948 in Pratt, Kansas. Bill was employed by Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Company where they lived throughout the Midwest and made Emporia their home in 1972. Billie was a home maker in addition to a 30 year sales associate with JC Penney. Her hobbies were cooking, square dancing, tending to her roses and camping.
Billie is survived by her daughters Dianne Blary and husband Scott of Mechanicsville, Virginia, Susan Orsted of Denver, Colorado, daughter-in-law Kim Hollond of Emporia, brother Jim Bunyan and wife Francis of Valley Center, Kansas, grandchildren Liz Reid, Dan Blary, Nick Blary, Courtney Donkervoet, Whitney Wheeler, Lindsey Gose and Taylor Hollond. Her great- grandchildren are Alex Reid, Parker Scott, Livie Gose, Charlee Wheeler and Emory Donkervoet. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill Hollond, son David Hollond, brother Glen Bunyan, sisters Louise McAdams, Pauline Burke, Betty Gibson and Peggy Raymer.
Funeral services will be planned for spring of this year following cremation.
