Obituary: Nicholas J. DeMarco, 78, of Springfield died at 4:08 a.m. Thursday at Memorial

Medical Center.

He was born July 24, 1915, in Acosta, Pa., the son of Edward and Rose Bartolomucci

DeMarco. He married Viola V. Center in 1950; she preceded him in death in 1991.

Mr. DeMarco was a resident of Springfield most of his life. He was a retired union worker and a

member of Elliott Avenue Baptist Church and Laborers Local 977.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Howard (Betty) Bahlow and Mrs. August (Kay) Casson, both

of Williamsville; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Julia Emmons, Mrs.

Irene Jerome and Mrs. Adeline Perganson, all of Springfield; a brother, Johnny Viele of Chicago;

and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Staab Funeral Home, with the Rev. Frank Gillet

officiating. Burial will be in Lake Bank Cemetery in Logan County
