Death Report - Mr. E.B. Terry, prominent American business man of Kobe, set out on his sailing yacht for Imahuru on September 20, and was not heard of again until the 28th, when the wreckage of his yacht was found near Shisakajima Island, Ehime Prefecture of Shikoku on the 28th. Meanwhile local authorities and the Navy department had been informed that he could not be found, and while the Navy stated it could not send boats or planes in search of him, because of the many calls it had to answer on account of the typhoon damage, a Navy official reported to the Embassy that all ships and local authorities in that district had been advised to look for Terry. His body was finally found in the sea off Kawanoi, Kawage Prefecture, late on the 28th, and his brother, D.S. Terry, informed. Mr. Terry had his brother's remains cremated and the ashes taken to Kobe for burial. MNH
