EAST LIVERPOOL — Nila M. Whitaker of Carolina Avenue died at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2007, at the Adkins Care Center.
Born in Fairfield Township, Ohio, a daughter of the late Wallace Kridler and Mary Shinn Kridler, she lived most of her life in this area.
At one time she worked at the former Ferro Corp. as a packer.
She loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed flowers, gardening and wildlife.
Her husband, Ralph A. Whitaker, whom she married Aug. 16, 1944, survives at home.
Also surviving are a daughter, Kristin Whitaker of Columbus, and a brother, Paul Kridler of Millersburg, Ohio.
There are two grandchildren: Kathryn Myers of Columbus and Michael Myers of Germany.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Harry Eugene Whitaker, and two brothers, Roy Kridler and Homer Kridler.
Pastor Ted Ludwig of Bethel Presbyterian Church is to conduct services at 11 a.m. Monday at Dawson Funeral Home, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Burial is to be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
