Mr. David E. "Gene" Avera, 51 of Fayetteville passed away May 26, 2005. Gene worked for Delta Airlines in Atlanta GA for over 29 years. Gene was preceded in death by his father, David E. "Billy" Avera. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Avera; 2 children, Holly and Michael Avera; mother, Thelma Avera; brother, Randy Avera; parents in law, Murray and Amy Pritchett; brother in law, Marshall Pritchett; sisters in law, Anna Pritchett and Charlotte Avera; nieces in law, Jessica Pritchett and Christine Cole. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2006 from 8-10PM and Wednesday, May 31, 2006 from 6:30-9:30PM at the Hollingsworth House (200 West Stonewall Ave., Fayetteville). A memorial service will be held at 8PM on Wednesday, with Rev. Tom Roan officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Gene's memory be made to the American Cancer Society, 135 Bradford Square, Fayetteville, GA 30215. Carl J.
