Elbert H. Jennings, age 80 of Frankford, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at his home.

Elbert requested that there be no formal visitation or funeral. Instead he asked that we have a gathering of friends and family to celebrate his life on this earth. In honoring his wishes the family asks that everyone join them on June 7, 2014 from 4 to 8 pm at the Jennings Opry Building in Frankford Mo. There will be a carry-in meal / BBQ. We will reminisce and reconnect with the friends and family that meant so much to him

He was born April 13, 1934 in Ralls County, the son of Edward Green and Fannie Arbelle Wilkens Jennings. He married Patsy Jo Clark on April 5, 1954. They were married until 2003. He later married Catherine L. Griffen on April 10, 2009. She survives. Other survivors include son David Lee Jennings; daughters Patty Youngblood, LaRita Jennings, Della Newsom, Sarah Pettey and husband Keith, Lora Williams and Bob Myers; step-daughter Jennifer James and husband Bryan; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; brother Ivan Jennings and wife Edna.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Darrell, Denver, Orville, Glen, Junior and Raymond; sister Claire Akens; nephew Elgin.

Elbert loved playing music and singing, building things and making things out of wood, metal and iron. He loved playing double twelve Domino’s and Kings in the Corner. Above all he loved family get togethers and being around his family.

Cremation rites were under the direction of the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green.
