William Sanders III, (Will), 28, went to be with his heavenly father on Friday, January 5th, 2018. His intermittent struggle and pain is finally over and he will most assuredly rest in peace in the loving arms of those that have gone on before him. His struggle with PTSD consumed him.
He was born to Rene and William Sanders, Jr in San Antonio, Texas on July 24, 1989. He loved sports, especially football, and played soccer, basketball and track and ejoyed riding his dirt bike.
He loved to cook. He was a big fan of super hero movies, especially Marvel.
In 2010 he joined the U.S. Army and came home a few years later. He was awarded the following decorations: Afghanistan campaign medal, Army commendation medal, National Defense Service medal, Global War on Terrorism Service medal, Army service ribbon, Overseas Service ribbon, NATO medal, Combat Action Badge. His area of specialty was 19D10 Cavalry Scout.
He had a great smile and big brown eyes that would warm your heart and people naturally gravitated to him. He was a recent member of Central Church of Christ in Shawnee. He was enrolled in classes at Gordon Cooper Vo-Tech in Shawnee.
William was preceded in death by his grandfathers, William Sanders Sr. and Terry Reynolds, Charles 'Buddy' Truesdell; and cousin Colton Reynolds.
William is survived by his mother, Rene Reynolds-Sharrock and her husband Jeff; father, William Sanders Jr.; sister, Savanna Newton and her husband Dillon Newton; half siblings, Wes Sanders, Marni Nillsson and Randi Sanders; grandparents, Fay Reynolds Truesdell, Bernice Stolte, Troy and Mona Sharrock; numerous friends and family.
Funeral Service was January 12, 2018 at Central Church of Christ, Shawnee. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.
