Jesse B. Armstrong, 80, of McConnellsburg, PA died Thursday, December 10, 2009 in the Long-Term Care at the Fulton County Medical Center. He was born in Baltimore, MD and was the son of the late Anna Mae and Dale Armstrong; brother of the late Charlotte Allnutt, and step-brother of the late Harry and Burnett Newman. He was a graduate of Mount Rainier High School, class of 1947, where he met his future wife, Elaine, and they were married for 58 years. During his school and working years, Jesse served in the National Guard and was employed by the C and B Telephone Company of Maryland for 27 years. After early retirement from the Telephone Company he and his wife moved from Riverdale, MD to McConnellsburg, PA where he enjoyed retirement life living on his 5 acre "Ponderosa". He is survived by his wife Elaine D. Barbier Armstrong; three sons and a daughter Roger A. and wife Theresa (Terry) of Crownsville, MD; Gary R. of Upper Marlboro, MD; Carol M. Hensley and husband William (Loyde) of Odenton, MD; Larry D. and wife Delores (Karen) of Hollywood MD; and nine grandchildren: Shawn M, Brandon P., Melissa A., Cory D., Kyle M., Cody S., Jesse P., Gino N., and Courtney E. Blank. A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 228 North Second Street, McConnellsburg, PA 17233. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the FCMC Auxillary 214 Peach Orchard Road, McConnellsburg, PA 17233. Arrangements are entrusted to Auer Cremation Services of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, PA.
