GEORGE I. BEASING

George I. Beasing was born April 20, 1901 in Langdon, Mo., the son of William Henry and Minnie (Dierks) Beasing. He passed away Oct. 14, 1983 at the Pawnee City Memorial Hospital in Pawnee City, Nebr., at the age of 82 years.

At an early age he was baptized and later confirmed on March 11,1913 in the Lutheran Church.

In his youth he attended rural school near Rock Port and graduated from Rock Port High School. After graduation he attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebr., for one year studying pharmacy. In 1919 he returned to Rock Port where he was employed at the Bank of Atchison County.

On June 3, 1928 he was united in marriage to Iva Irene Weisenberger at the family farm home north of Rock Port,. They made their home in Rock Port where he ws employed at the Bank of Atchison County.

In 1943 he, George Boettner and Joyce Bailey founded the Three B's Insurance Agency which was carried on to the present time. He continued banking for over 60 years until his retirement in 1980 having served on the Board of Directors for a number of years.

Mrs. Beasing passed away in April of 1981. In October of 1981 he moved to Pawnee City to be with his daughter Lois and her family.

He ws a member of the First Lutheran Church of Rock Port; charter member of the Rock Port Rotary Club; served on the Rock Port City Council and served as president of both the Atchison County Library Board and Highway 136 Association. George was instrumental in helping organize and establish the Missouri Beef packers and served on the Board of Directors.

George will always be remembered for his love for family, church and his lifetime of tireless efforts through his work with community projects toward the improvement of Rock Port,. Missouri.

He is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Ellis (Lois) Dovel of Pawnee City, Nebr., and Mrs. Ted (Norma) Shaw of Des Moines, Iowa; and three grandchildren.
