Sherry Anne Griggs, age 78, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 20, 2018. She was born in Wharton, Texas on March 2, 1939 to Grace Horn McIntyre and Virgil McIntyre.

Affectionately known as “Gammie”, Sherry was the Matriarch of the Griggs Family and so enjoyed the many gatherings with everyone down at Griggs Landing. Her loving family and friends will remember Sherry for her vivacious spirit, zest for life, contagious smile, and her love for God.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, R.B. Griggs; and her brothers, Roy McIntyre and Virgil McIntyre Jr.

Sherry is survived by her children, Bobby Griggs and daughter-in-law, Rose; John Griggs and daughter-in-law, Renee; J.T. Griggs and daughter-in-law, Melinda; and Mark Griggs; She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Cindy Griggs; her sisters, Dawn Cleboski (husband, Bob) and Dianne Baker (husband, John) and her brother, Truman McIntyre (wife, Debbie). Sherry is the proud “Gammie” of 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, and she adored each and every one of them.

She will be remembered and missed by many people whose lives she touched throughout the years. May this angel on earth now rest in peace in heaven.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at Sterling-White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd., Highlands, TX on Thursday, January 25, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services will be held in Sterling-White Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, January 26, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Sterling-White Cemetery.
